Hall of Fame Ceremony Postponed

Covid-19 has created an incredible amount of challenges for organizations like Spirit of Atlanta, and we are doing all that we can to continue to keep our family active and healthy at the same time. Based on the most recent information available we have made the decision to indefinitely postpone the 2020 Spirit of Atlanta Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which had been rescheduled for August 8th.

A combination of travel restrictions, rapidly changing conditions regarding social gatherings, and the overall desire to place safety above all else were paramount to this decision. We simply will not risk safety of our Spirit staff, alumni, members, and families at this time.

The indefinite postponement means we will re-evaluate options over the next few months. Possibilities include scheduling a new ceremony date in fall or winter or combining the induction of the 2020 class with the 2021 class next spring. We believe it important that our inductees are given the full opportunity to be recognized as they deserve, so a virtual event was not considered at this time.

The Hall of Fame Committee thanks all who have supported this event over the years, gives special recognition to this year’s inductees for their patience and understanding, and looks forward to keeping the great history of Spirit of Atlanta alive by honoring the most deserving members of our drum corps family.
