Photography/Social Media Intern: Media Team


The Photography/Social Media Intern for Spirit of Atlanta will travel with the corps throughout the summer as part of the media team, producing photos, graphics, and social media content to share with fans across the world, as well as preparing internal content for staff and management use.

Job Duties include:

Working closely with your team, maintaining a high level of communication on project updates, timelines, and progress.  Shooting and producing creative, high-quality photo content from concept to delivery.  Optimizing, organizing, and preparing files for a variety of outlets.   Other responsibilities as they develop based on intern interest areas and organization needs.


  • Preference for those currently pursuing or completed a degree in business, digital media, journalism, or communications related field
  • Creative writing and storytelling skills
  • Strong understanding of internet trends and technologies
  • Experience in photo/video shooting and editing using current software.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite software including Photoshop, Lightroom, and possibly Premiere Pro
  • Knowledge of DCI and marching arts is preferred
  • Own necessary equipment including cameras, accessories, laptop for editing.


The Photography/Social Media Intern position runs June 10th through August 13th. Alternative coverage durations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  You will be allowed up to 5 days off from tour, to be coordinated with corps management.


This is an unpaid internship.  If class credit can be obtained through your school, Spirit of Atlanta will work to complete all necessary documentation and follow up.  All corps-related travel, housing, and meals will be provided by Spirit of Atlanta.  A stipend with be available to help offset personal travel and meal expenses.
