Spirit U Scholarships

Before completing your application, please confirm that you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Spirit U Scholarship program,

and that you meet the eligibility requirements below.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  1. You must be a legal US resident.
  2. You must be between the ages of 12-18.
  3. You must be enrolled in a public or private school, or in an approved home-school program.
  4. You must be enrolled in a band program, and submit a letter of recommendation from the director of the program.
  5. You must be willing and able to travel at your own expense to the Spirit U camp on the University of West Georgia campus during the specified dates.

By applying for a Spirit U Scholarship, you agree to these terms:

  • You must be a legal U.S. resident, eligible to be considered for scholarship awards.
  • You may not submit more than one application per person.  Submitting multiple applications will not increase your chances of being selected.
  • You must provide your mailing address so that we can send you information if you are selected as a scholarship recipient.
  • To be awarded a scholarship, a recipient must be enrolled in a public or private school, or an approved home school program,  and an active participant in the school band program.
  • Scholarships have no cash value and may only be used to cover the tuition portion of the Spirit U summer camp program in the same year the scholarship is awarded.  Failure to attend does not entitle the recipient to any refund or other compensation in lieu of the scholarship.
  • Scholarship covers only the cost of registration for a student attending Spirit U, and all of the benefits included with that registration.  Recipient will be responsible for any and all other costs associated with attendance including additional items purchased, money for incidentals and snacks, etc.
  • By applying for a scholarship, applicant grants Spirit of Atlanta permission to publish their name and/or likeness on any and all media channels, including websites, social media sites, and printed materials if a scholarship is awarded.
  • Scholarship recipients agree to submit a current photo and a publicity release granting permission to use their image  in any marketing communications.
  • In order to ensure a fair and equitable selection process, Spirit of Atlanta will facilitate a small committee to select and notify scholarship recipients, to verify recipient information, and to administer scholarship funds.  The committee will include the Spirit U Camp Director(s) and members of the Board of Directors of Spirit of Atlanta Inc., the parent organization that operates Spirit U.  Spirit of Atlanta Inc. will have sole discretion of selecting scholarship recipients, and their decisions are final.
  • Spirit of Atlanta Inc. reserves the right to change the scholarship programs at any time, including available scholarships, deadlines, requirements, award amounts, or other program details.
  • Your information is safe with us. The Spirit of Atlanta Privacy Policy applies to all scholarship applications.
  • Scholarship winners will be contacted by e-mail and/or phone no later than June 1st.  A list of scholarship recipients will be publicly available on the Spirit of Atlanta website.
  • If winners do not reply by the date specified, Spirit of Atlanta Inc. reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the winner, and to award the scholarship to another applicant or to redistribute the scholarship award funds in a manner of its choosing.
