Yes, we will accept video auditions throughout the winter and spring until all performer positions are filled. After you receive feedback from our staff, you may be asked to attend a winter camp before membership is confirmed. If you are offered a membership agreement, you will be required to attend the April camp. To audition by video, you will need to create an account in UltraCamp, purchase the audition packet material, and register for the video audition to submit your audition.
-
In 2025, all front ensemble candidates attend a live, in-person audition or submit a video audition. A select group of candidates will then be invited to join us for a callback camp in January, where the audition process will continue.
-
We’re willing to consider your audition on multiple instruments as long as it’s within the same section! (brass, percussion, guard, etc.) We’d ask, though, that you choose one for now, and let us know in your audition if you’d like to show us your skills in another area!
-
Anyone between the ages of 16 to 21 may audition for Spirit of Atlanta. DCI limits the age of participants to 21 years of age and younger. A participant who is 22 years before June 1 would be unable to compete. If you turn 22 AFTER June 1st, you are eligible to participate in the 2025 season. We recommend you be at least 16 years of age to participate.
-
Prospective members should plan on a move-in date of May 26th, 2024 depending on your caption. The season will conclude in Indianapolis, IN on August 10th, 2024 at the Drum Corps International World Championships.
-
Members of Spirit of Atlanta from the 2024 season who are in good standing will automatically advance to the callback round for 2025.
While you are not required to attend an in-person camp, we expect this season to be highly competitive and it is recommended you attend as many camps as possible.
It's important to note that no past member is assured a spot for the upcoming season; each individual is expected to secure their membership by continually elevating their performance to the highest standards of excellence.
-
For our one-day auditions, there are no housing accommodations, you will need to provide your own.
During the January call-back camp, and subsequent camps thereafter, you'll be eating, rehearsing, sleeping, and showering at the designated school. Participants usually sleep in the school gymnasium and use the school's locker rooms for showering. Meals will be served from the Spirit of Atlanta food truck, offering a complete drum corps experience.
We designate separate sleeping zones based on gender, age (adults 18-over separated from members 17 & under) and whenever possible, use separate gyms or areas. Signs are clearly posted to designate male or female sleeping areas.
Shower facilities are organized by age group (under 18 and 18+) and gender. Should you require special accommodations, please inform the Spirit of Atlanta administration ahead of time.
Prior to each camp, we request participants to complete an RSVP form. This form helps us prepare for your arrival and adapt to your dietary needs, so be specific.

The Spirit of Atlanta auditions are designed to emulate a regular rehearsal day, giving you an authentic taste of life in the corps. Typically, performers will break into their respective sections to focus on music and movement drills. During these sectionals, you'll have a chance to step aside for a one-on-one session with our educational team for your caption. This isn't just a test of your skills; it's a two-way street for us to learn about you and vice versa. Our aim is to create a laid-back, supportive atmosphere where you can audition at your best. Expect to receive constructive feedback on your performance.
