  • Position Title: Assistant Chef for Spirit of Atlanta

    Job Summary:

    As the Assistant Chef for Spirit of Atlanta, you will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary operations of the drum corps. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help ensure the provision of nutritious and delicious meals for the members of the corps during rehearsals, performances, and tours. Your responsibilities will include assisting with meal preparation, kitchen organization, inventory management, and upholding food safety standards.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Meal Preparation:

    Collaborate with the Head Chef to prepare well-balanced and flavorful meals for the drum corps members.

    Assist in executing recipes and meal plans that meet the nutritional needs and dietary preferences of the corps.

    Help with the preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks as per the scheduled meal times.

    Kitchen Organization:

    Support the Head Chef in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

    Assist with inventory management, including stocking ingredients, monitoring supplies, and rotating stock to ensure freshness.

    Help keep kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations clean and in good working condition.

    Food Safety and Hygiene:

    Adhere strictly to food safety standards and guidelines, ensuring proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.

    Monitor temperatures of food items and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

    Participate in regular cleaning and sanitization of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.

    Assistance during Meal Times:

    Support the Head Chef during meal service, including setting up dining areas, plating food, and assisting with clean-up.

    Accommodate special dietary needs or requests from corps members with attention to detail and sensitivity.

    Team Collaboration:

    Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations.

    Communicate effectively with other members of the Spirit of Atlanta team to coordinate meal schedules and address any special requirements or concerns.

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably in a high-volume setting.

    Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

    Strong culinary skills and familiarity with diverse cooking techniques.

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    Collaborative spirit and willingness to support the team as needed.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

    Stamina to work long hours during rehearsals, performances, and tours.

    Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands.

  • Job Summary:

    As the Merchandise Manager for Spirit of Atlanta, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of merchandise sales and management for the drum corps. Your primary goal will be to maximize revenue and enhance the fan experience by offering high-quality merchandise that reflects the spirit and identity of the organization. This role requires strong organizational skills, salesmanship, and a passion for customer service.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Inventory Management:

    Maintain an accurate inventory of all merchandise items, including apparel, accessories, and novelty items.

    Monitor stock levels and reorder merchandise as needed to ensure availability for fans and corps members.

    Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate records.

    Merchandise Sales:

    Set up and manage merchandise sales booths at rehearsals, performances, competitions, and other events attended by Spirit of Atlanta.

    Provide excellent customer service to fans and supporters, assisting with product selection, sizing, and purchases.

    Process transactions efficiently and accurately using cash registers or mobile payment systems.

    Implement sales strategies to promote merchandise and increase revenue, such as discounts, bundles, or special promotions.

    Merchandise Design and Procurement:

    Collaborate with the design team to create new merchandise concepts and designs that align with the Spirit of Atlanta brand.

    Source suppliers and vendors for merchandise production, negotiating pricing and terms to maximize profitability.

    Oversee the production process, ensuring quality control and timely delivery of merchandise items.

    Financial Management:

    Track merchandise sales revenue and expenses, maintaining detailed records and reports for financial analysis.

    Develop and manage merchandise budgets, setting sales targets and monitoring performance against goals.

    Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to optimize profitability.

    Team Collaboration:

    Coordinate with other members of the Spirit of Atlanta staff, including marketing, finance, and operations, to align merchandise efforts with organizational goals and initiatives.

    Work closely with volunteers or seasonal staff members to assist with merchandise sales and event support.

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience in retail management, merchandising, or sales, preferably in a similar setting (e.g., sports merchandising, music events).

    Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.

    Proficiency in inventory management software and point-of-sale systems.

    Creative flair and an eye for design, with experience in merchandise branding and product development.

    Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate events and performances.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift and carry merchandise boxes and display materials (up to 50 pounds).

    Stamina to stand for extended periods during events and performances.

    Note: The Merchandise Manager plays a vital role in generating revenue and fostering fan engagement for Spirit of Atlanta.
